I've done this but it didn't helped. I've finally gived /var/lib/sasl/ group write 
rights (shadow group) and added 
        sasl_auto_transition: yes 

in /etc/imapd.conf

So i can log now but I get a "our Mail session has expired. Please login again."

Any idea ?

BTW, we use sasl+saslauthd+pam)+pam_ldap to authenticate users against ldap base. Is 
there a way to reduce the number of components
(and possible failure) to do this ? It become harder and harder to install new servers 
running cyrus and ldap with all
this components which each have possible problems, not always explicit log traces,... 
I'm becoming mad !
