I'm not sure if this is possible, but you can override the realm that Cyrus uses by setting the 'servername' attribute in imapd.conf. Note, this also changes the servername reported in the greeting banner.
If you do migrate the users to a new realm, you may want to use something more generic than the current imap servername, just the domain name for instance.
