Nope -- if you can shut down cyrus, backing up by normal means is OK. But when cyrus is running, the mailbox/delivery database state on the disk is a "moving target", and you can't get a complete backup out of it; it would only work up to the last completed checkpoint and would need manual recovery procedures.
