I want to place my IMAP box on the Internet but I dislike to
put the user password file on the same host. I want to keep it
in the private segment for security reason.

So, i use the saslauthd to forward authentication to the server in the
private segment.

     +---imap.hogehoge.com-----+
     | cyrus-imapd + saslauthd |
     +-------------|-----------+ Internet Segment
                 +-+-+
-----------------| R |----------------------------
                 +-+-+
                   |
     +-------------+-----------+ Private Segment
     | /etc/sasldb |
     +---auth.hogehoge.com-----+

I start up the saslauthd daemon in imap.hogehoge.com as follows.

# saslauthd -r H auth.hogehoge.com -a rimap

of cource, cyrus-imapd servers are also working on the
auth.hogehoge.com in order to authenticate users.

but, the option "-a rimap" only forward IMAP authentication. I would
like the saslauthd to forward POP authentication too.

Is there any plan to make saslauthd to provide POP authentication
service? If not, i do it.

Thanks,
Hirotaka
