Hi,

I am having a couple of problems with SASL authentication. First of all,
the authentication mechanisms CRAM-MD5 DIGECT-MD5 done't appear as being
supported, even though I have used the the sample programs that come
with SASL those appear to work.

Also, I have set the pwcheck_method to pwcheck in the
/usr/lib/sasl/Sendmail.conf file because I need to authenticate using an
external program. But when I a client trying to authenticate I get
following lines on the maillog:

Nov 20 14:58:47 mail sm-mta[17366]: AUTH: available mech=PLAIN LOGIN
ANONYMOUS, allowed mech=CRAM-MD5 DIGECT-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN
Nov 20 14:58:50 mail sm-mta[17366]: fAK1wlOg017366: AUTH failure
(PLAIN): no mechanism available (-4) (null)

I have checked that path to the unix socket which is used by the sasl
library (/var/imap/pwcheck) is ok for permissions, and have also made
the socket permissions as 777 (it won't stay that way, just to test.

Any suggections would be appreciated.

Thanks
