While I would love to take credit for it, (it's a nice script) it was
actually written by Mark Borrie of the University of Otago in New
Zealand. After I posted my question to the list, Alain Turbide forwarded
the script to me. It was *exactly* what I was looking for, and so I
contacted Mark and got permission to post it to cyrus-utils.
