I had also the same Problem, i used the hiersep-r2 version from Ken
Murchison.
I use this version for my production server (about 400 Clients and 200GB
Data).
You can get the version on
ftp://ftp.oceana.com/pub/cyrus-imapd-2.0.15-HIERSEP-r2.tar.gz
There are two more Option in the imapd.conf
unixhierarchysep: yes # what you want
altnamespace: yes # the alternative namespace
