It's a Unix-domain socket.  The `-a' flag has no effect on this type
of socket because the LMTP connection is always preauthorized as
`postman', whatever that means.  Here's the sendmail complaint again:

Aug 27 13:05:01 setup16 sm-mta[6600]: [ID 702911 mail.warning] AUTH=client, 
relay=localhost [(null)], authinfo failed

sendmail-8.12.0.Beta16 apparently sends the LMTP AUTH command to lmtpd,
and is not happy with the response.  I'm looking for a way to supress
the error message, since the delivery actually succeeds.
