when di you run the script ?
how often ?
how ? (cron ?)

Having cyrus patched make it live. (even if increasing the number of 
connections to your Ldap server). If you just run a script, your cyrus 
will not be synchronized to your Ldap until it is ran...

Just think of it.

Personaly, I realy apreciate to have a patch :)))
