I'd like to announce the release of Cyrus SASL 2.0.2-ALPHA, available on
ftp.andrew.cmu.edu.
As this is still an ALPHA release, it is intended solely for use by developers
as an aide to porting their applications to the new API. It is not intended
for use on any production system.
New features included in this release include the ability to build a static
library containing all of the mechanisms internally, the ability to
load auxprop and canon_user plugins from shared objects, much improved
error handling and reporting via the sasl_errdetail interface, and the first
release of the Java API that uses the Cyrus SASL 2 backend.
What is not included in this release but is planned for the next one includes
an overhaul of the handling of client-send-first and server-send-last
situations, as well as moving the sasldb code completely out of the
main library.
