To think of it, maybe Berkeley DB could be used. It might even be better... if
you can specify it the amount of cache memory to use.
But hey, this is also what mb-daemon is about! The daemon side is like a
plug-in, you can have a "text file daemon", a Berkeley DB daemon or an
SQL-daemon, with modifications and compilation only needed on the daemon side,
not on the IMAPd side.
