Hi all.

I applied the patch to cyrus-imap 2.0.12 that allows to use "." in the
mailbox name and uses "/" as the mailbox separator.
Until now I have been using user_domain_tld scheme for mailboxes.

If I can use "." in mailbox then I can create mailboxes as
[EMAIL PROTECTED] which is cool so users can authentify as [EMAIL PROTECTED]
which is more userfriendly than user_domain_tld (I have no idea why).

Now the problem is that I dont know how to route mail to this mailbox.
We are using LDAP to lookup users and maildrops. We use a number a
mailbox servers (imap servers) and a route mails over SMTP.
Example:
user: aghaffar_ispman_net
maildrop: aghaffar_ispman_net@cyrus26
... more stuff omitted....
so the SMTP servers(Postfix) that recieve the mails for this user
routes them to the address aghaffar_ispman_net@cyrus26

now I have this problem
user: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
maildrop: [EMAIL PROTECTED]@cyrus26
... more stuff omitted....
you see? two "@"s.
Damn...... :=)

Is "something@something"@somewhere a valid email adddress?

I can use now "user.domain.tld" instead of "user_domain_tld" and
suspect that it will be more acceptible by the users. They hate the "_"
character.

Any one has any suggestions on how can I keep the [EMAIL PROTECTED] scheme
and still get the mailrouting done cleanly?

thanks.
