procmail and cyrus 2.x

Is there any workaround to use procmail with cyrus 2.x? I started to use
procmail for my imap users when sieve had only very limited capabilities
and would have to change a lot (filter rules, administrative interfaces,
cgis) to have a similar filtering system with sieve. I know that there are 
other cyrus users with the same problem and I think it would be good if cyrus 
is open for other filtering systems.

Any hints appreciated.
