Job Title : Lead Mainframe Quality Assurance Analyst .
Location : Chicago , IL .
Duration : 3 months.
PROJECT/POSITION DESCRIPTION: &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ü Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure
the delivery of quality software applications.
ü Involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case
automation and test execution.
ü Deliver quality process training to technical staff and acts as an
internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical
partners.
ü Design, write and edit test plans to ensure software functions as
designed.
ü Review system use cases and functional specifications with the
appropriate business analyst.
ü Identify potential problems, omissions and open issues and attend
walkthroughs and attend signoff meetings.
ü Serve as a coach and mentor to the department staff regarding how to
develop and execute a test plan.
ü Serve as a process improvement leader for the QA department.
ü Responsible for identifying areas for improvements, implementing
process improvements and ensuring long term compliance.
ü Act as the lead in managing QA participation in sunset reviews.
ü Set policies, standards and procedures for cross-teams system
development life cycle, workflow and the interfaces with Product Verification.
ü Partner with team to prepare comprehensive QA project plan, estimates
as well as the implementation for phases of projects.
ü Monitor the schedule of testing phases for all projects based on
project specifications, scope, and coverage.
Required skills :
Ø Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Ø Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
Ø 1-2 years experience with IMS, JCL, and MQ/Messaging
Ø 2-4 years experience with DB2 and CICS
Ø 6+ years of Mainframe experience
Ø Health Insurance experience required
Ø Testing background and hands on experience with test tools (TSO,
File-Aid, capture/playback, Mercury Interactive)
Ø ITS software knowledge is helpful
Ø ITS claims processing preferred
Ø Work toward certifications including: CSQE or CSQA preferred,
professional test tool certification (Mercury, Rational, Compuware) .
