Hi Michael,

thank you for the suggestion actually, I am still on Win10. But I already found an interesting thing. Saving is much faster if my project lives on a local drive.  I was using FigureJ on a network path when it was too slow to be useful. So one workaround is already clear.

Best

Did you just upgrade to Windows 11, start running OneDrive, or have the
computer upgraded by you IT department. The behavior you describe sounds like
problems we have with off our campus computers when the VPN is not operating.

Scheduling the time you want is far more reliable by phone call.  Why not
provide your phone number?

Subject: Re: FigureJ Problem

PS:

Actually, FigureJ doesn't crash really. Fiji just becomes unresponsive
for extended periods of time and sometimes when I return to the computer
later, the plugin is ready again and the project folder contains the
usual files. Only it was vastly faster some years ago. Can anyone point
out a solution? What do you use as a current alternative? Is there an
archived version of Fiji that works in the old way? Which version would
I pull and how would I go about installing the plugin and dependencies
in that, without breaking it again? Wasn't it a great plugin?

Best regards

Dear community

is anyone else having problems using the FigureJ plugin that is still
in the update sites of IBMP-CNRS? I hadn't used it in quite a while. I
updated on a fresh downloaded stable Fiji and the plugin starts and
allows me to build a layout and add images. As soon as I try to save,
it comes to choosing an output folder. When I select that, Fiji
crashes / becomes unresponsive. I can see the folder was generated and
contains one file with '.figurej' as extension.  Any ideas how to get
it working again?

Best regards

Christian
