Coaches can set up tripods for video, then immediately show that footage on our 60" screen in the "Great Room." The "Crystal Lake Room," a combination conference room/library is designed for protest hearings or homework. The "Porter Family Kitchen" and office also overlooks the water for scorekeepers and/or parents bringing hot food. Our first home regatta, the freshmen Nickerson trophy this past weekend, utilized our new floats (double the old float space) for quick rotations allowing more races. The Nickerson family served gourmet soup and other delectable offerings on the very warm third floor. Five bathrooms (yes five, the building codes required that many) prevent any waiting and even the boats are seeing some TLC with all new indoor storage and a large modern "Duplin Carpentry Shop" after living outdoors for the past two seasons. Even the coach boats are designed for the most efficient possib! le race management. Prepare to by styled on the gorgeous Upper Mystic Lake in Medford, MA, within eight miles of Logan airport, Boston and Cambridge. > > Speaking of Joe Duplin (Tufts Sailing Master 1967-1980), here are three > testimonials from the 2011 Duplin Trophy (women's team racing) before the > Bacow Sailing Pavilion: >> From Katy Nastro, BC'11: "As a senior I've sailed this event for the past >> three years and I have to admit it's one of my favorites....Definitely going >> to miss this event, and I wish you success for future Duplin team races!" >> From Greg Wilkinson, BC coach: "The Duplin is quite possibly my favorite >> college regatta." >> From Colin Merrick, RWU assistant coach: "Very cool.
