St. Francis Interconference Regatta
March 30-31, 2013
San Francisco, CA
St. Francis Yacht Club & Stanford University

Racing for the StFYC Interconference began just after 1100h on Saturday March
30, 2013. Breeze started at 7 knots from 260° and clocked right to 300°. Two A
Division and two B Division races were sailed in the clocking breeze with the B
Division sailing in cross course current by the end of Race 2. Breeze died for
15 minutes and built back from the prevailing angle of 240°. It was shifty and
puffy with gusts up to 25 knots and as low as 8 knots, going through big shift
cycles. Sailing was tricky and the best teams identified the switching tide and
wind shifts and put the two together for net gain. Overall it was a nice day of
sailing with six races for both divisions completed. Sailing resumes tomorrow
at 1000h with rain and breeze forecasted. Special thanks to Danielle Richards,
Mike Segerblom, Regatta Chair Russ Silvestri, PRO Robbie Dean, Protest Chair
Grant Baldwin, and the rest of the Race Committee team.
