Sailors, coaches, and umpires were postponed on shore until 1:45 due to the lack of wind. The race committee completed 22 races in a flood tide and southerly winds ranging from 8-15 knots. Sailors were sent ashore for the day when several extreme wind shifts and changes in velocity were deemed unsuitable for racing.
