Bob Bavier Team Race Intersectional
College of Charleston
February 28 - March 1, 2009

REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday: The breeze started at 8-10 from the SW this morning and we were able
to start racing on time with relatively slack current. The wind increased to
15-18 knots by early afternoon with a fairly strong outgoing current. Storms in
the area forced a brief postponement in the racing late in the afternoon.
Afterwards we completed 12 additional races in a 5-8 knot WSW breeze with a
light but building flood current and some rain. 74 races were completed for the
day. 1 breakdown was filed that will result in a resail between CofC and
Stanford. 6 protests were heard resulting in 5 DSQs (result changed in Navy v
NYM in RR1, USF v Vermont in RR2, and CofC v USF in RR2). 1 protest was
deferred
until tomorrow. Results summary below, grid attached. Thanks to our chief judge
John Bowden, all of the coaches who heard protests, and the CofC sailors who
helped run the event.
