i wouldn't call myself that, but given that i am an icinga team member,

maintenance might become costly, but that's rather a part everyone needs
to think of when putting open source software into production.

good joke. my only concern in "money" is that someone buys me a dev beer
when we meet - if he/she wants to ;-D

or likewise, someone could sponsor test and dev boxes. or could sponsor
a feature implementation, which will be released upstream then again.
but that's nothing the normal user should fear anyways in regards of
"that costs me money".

no. icinga won't follow those open core models, and therefore there
won't be "non free parts" or "protected parts" or "enterprise only
parts" or "subscriber only parts".

none. icinga and its components will remain 100% open source, and not a
single line will be hidden. gplv2/3 license and copyright will apply
though - but that won't cost you any money.you'll find the sources
within the publicly released tarballs as well as on git scm tracker.

kind regards,
michael
