This feature of having global/explcit buttons link to an implicit button is implemented now and in testing. It turned out to be 25 lines with doc strings and a menu interface. A little more work is needed to handle movement of the button in the buffer. You can create new global, explicit or implicit buttons with a type of link-to-ibut, linking to any implicit button at point. When it is ready, we will share something here.
This is the toolkit part of Hyperbole. With a small effort, you can extend it to supply a lot more productivity leverage. Maybe we will add a capability that lets you define global implicit buttons that would be preceded by a name and then could be activated from anywhere. Anyone want to propose a syntax? -- Bob
