From a reddit discussion of whether Emacs was dying: "Emacs has been `dying' for the past 20 years, if not more, yet it's stronger than ever. Newer editors certainly do have an easier out of the box experience, I can't deny that, but the new features that blow me away always end up being Emacs modes. Hyperbole was just the latest one."
