Yes, I agree. Do we also want the test directory? Right now, make dist
omits it, causing configure to complain:
...
creating test/Makefile
sed: can't read ./test/Makefile.in: No such file or directory
creating test/test_functions
sed: can't read ./test/test_functions.in: No such file or directory
