Now regardless of any problems created by his changing the site, why would –vvv not give any output whatsoever? I would think that even if for some reason every link were getting excluded for some reason, I would be getting debug messages to that effect.
Given that htdig doesn't do a whole lot before it hits the first debug message, my guess would be that the problem is not directly due to a change in the site being indexed. As I recall, the first message is in fact output before any attempt is made to retrieve a document. The first two things that I would investigate are the contents of the database directory and your config file. As for the database directory, I would just clear it altogether to eliminate the possibility of a database file being corrupted in some ugly way or a url_log file gone bad. In addition to visually examining your config file, you might also try temporarily reverting to a copy of the original that comes with the ht://Dig package.
