If you are working with a 3.1.x version, there is no simple way to directly remove a URL; however if the URL is no longer valid and you perform an update dig (i.e. don't use -i), the URL should be removed automatically. Where possible, based on server configuration and page type, an update dig avoids retrieving/reindexing pages that have not changed
