Hello.
I've just setup htdig on a site i'm developing, and have done so without any
kind of incident. Right now i'm trying to optimize the searches to bring back
the 'best' pages for certain queries i expect to happen fairly often. The
problem i've come accross is this: the site's pages are heavily templated,
and almost all pages include the exact same text menu on the left hand side.
Thus, any search that contains a word in that menu will bring back every page
that has that menu on it.
Is there a way to exclude that area of the html document for being indexed?
One option i'm considering is to recreate the menu using images instead of
text, but for ease of maintenance, i'd prefer to keep it text based.
Any ideas?

thanks,
christian.
