Sure, the 73xx is similar to what I used to develop hp-scan. I am planning
on a GUI version of hp-scan (to eliminate the cmdline args among other
things...), so it should be more friendly in the future. But, I like to get
everything working first w/o a GUI so that I can develop it faster.

We don't currently have a method to invoke HPLIP software tools from a
device button push. This was actually a planned feature at one point, but
the overhead of constantly polling the device is just too high.
