Brad,

HPLIP is a linux driver solution. If you need printing from XP you might
try the 'Windoze' drivers from hp.com or your cd, :).

If you're looking to install linux and then run HPLIP then you might
check out any of the supported linux distributions etc.

HPLIP does not run in/on Windows natively.
