Hi,

I'd like to upgrade the firmware of an HP color laserjet 2840. On the HP
website I found a firmware image for this machine, see:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=445194&prodNameId=445197&swEnvOID=2020&swLang=7&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ly-36519-2
However, there are no instructions on how to get the firmware onto the
printer. HP business support simply told me that they don't support
linux, which doesn't help much either.

Do the HPLIP tools include a utility for upgrading firmware to such a
device? Or is there an easier way? I'm a bit surprised that the web
frontend to the printer doesn't seem to provide the possibility to
upload new firmware.

Thanks,

Wouter
