I have reinstalled the latest version of hplip-2.7.7. The printer will print just fine with a color cartridge, but not at all with a black cartridge. It acts like it is printing, sounds like it is printing, but spits out perfectly blank paper. I spent over an hour trying to work this through today on the HP website, and he finally said if I was not using MS Windows he could not help me --- waste of time since I told him up front I was using Ubuntu and NOT Windows.
I have used up the color cartridge that came with this new HP printer, and have tried TWO new black #21 cartridges with no success. Can anyone help me get this printer working?!? I usually only use a black cartridge and print in greyscale, so I do not want to be tied to a color cartridge. Thanks!!!
