By the way:
Do you have a URL where all those special devices are listed
which require bi-directional I/O even for plain printing?
Or even better perhaps in a file in the source code which
lists them for the particular HPLIP version?
You can refer to models.dat (in ver. 2.7.6)... take a look at the io-mode.
The io-mode can be looked up in this file: base/codes.py (line 683). The
io-mode is the mode used during printing. The io-mfp-mode is used for other,
non-printing operations. Both share the same codes.
