Hello all,
I'm new to this group and need your help.
I have a Linksys DPR 1260 wireless printer server on a network with 3 Windows
PC's and an Apple iMac 20" inch (Intel). The printer server is connected via
USB to a HP PSC 2175 all-in-one printer. The Window's machines can print with
no problem. The imac cannot print at all.
The address of the DPR1260 is 192.168.1.10 (static) and the share name for the
printer is "PSC2170Series". I downloaded the JPJJS.ppd from
http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-PSC_2175 and saved it to
/library/printer/ppds folder. Here are the settings I used when I added a
printer in the Print/Fax System Preferences:
Protocol: Line Printer Daemon -LPD
Address: 192.168.1.10
Queue: PSC2170Series
Name: (default)
Location : (blank:
Print Using : HP -> HP PSC 2175 Foomatic/hpijs (recommended)
Unfortunately, when I print from the iMac, I get a Foomatic Status 2 error and
the print job is stopped.
(Note: If I connect the printer directly to the Mac, it prints with no problem
but I had trouble sharing the printer with the Windows computers on the
network. That was when I purchased the Linksys DPR-1260)
Any ideas? Tech support is absolutely no help on this, despite the fact that
the 2175 is on their supported printer list for the Linksys DPR 1260.
Please help. Are there any other options that I am missing? Thanks in advance!
George Somers
