I am having trouble compiling this software, I have an HP officejet pro L7680
and and I am trying to compile hplip-1.7.2 on RHEL5 x86. I have attached
configure_output.txt as well as hp_check.txt to this email.
my kernel is: 2.6.18-8.1.1.el5 #1 SMP Mon Feb 26 20:38:02 EST 2007 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux
when i run ./configure I get this output:
checking for install_initd... /usr/lib/lsb/install_initd
checking for pthread_create in -lpthread... yes
checking for CRYPTO_free in -lcrypto... yes
checking for snmp_timeout in -lnetsnmp... no
checking for usb_init in -lusb... no
configure: error: cannot find libusb support
but when I verify libusb the latest version for RHEL5 is installed:
# rpm -qa | grep libusb | xargs -i rpm -ql {}
/usr/lib/libusb-0.1.so.4
/usr/lib/libusb-0.1.so.4.4.4
/usr/lib/libusbpp-0.1.so.4
/usr/lib/libusbpp-0.1.so.4.4.4
How can I make configure SEE libusb on my system so I can get this show going?
