I experience exactly the same problem as Eric with bleeding text on coloured background. Network attached Photosmart 3210, HPLIP 1.7.4a on openSUSE 10.2. Printing an Impress slide (from OpenOffice or exporting to pdf and then printing the pdf)on HP Bright White Inkjet paper gives this bleeding.
