Carol,
Please be sure that SELinux is disabled.
System > Admin > Security > SELinux > disable.
It looks like the printer is installed correctly. Can you run:
/usr/lib/cups/backend/hp
and post the output?
Also try disconnecting/power off the printer, then run:
su
/etc/init.d/hplip restart
/etc/init.d/cups restart
power the printer back on and run hp-toolbox. What happens?
