I'm a new Linux user and am running a recent Ubuntu in which is installed hplip. I have a HP LaserJet 3300 mfp (works well as printer) and NO document feeder. XSANE recognizes the device.
When I try to scan, get error message "Document feeder out of documents". Note, I don't have an ADF. I have referred the problem to Oliver Rauch who believes it is a backend problem.
