I have downloaded the HPLIP 1.6.10 package for my computer runninh Slackware 11.0
It was said in the README that PyQT was required. I have so installed successfully : - sip-4.5.2 ( required by Qt ) - Qt4.2.2 ( required by PyQT ) - and finally PyQT 4.1.1 Everything compiled slowly from sources but with full success ! With all these packages installed, I run : # hp-setup HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 1.6.10) Printer/Fax Setup Utility ver. 3.1 Copyright (c) 2003-6 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, LP This software comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. This is free software, and you are welcome to distribute it under certain conditions. See COPYING file for more details. 0 error: PyQt not installed. GUI not available. Exiting. error: PyQt init failed. Reverting to interactive mode. What is wrong ? Is there an environnment variable to set up for HPLIP I have forgotten ?
