In a fresh installation if Fedora Core 6 with the latest RPMs upgades.
The HP-setup program finds a Photosmart 5100 series pbb file which
unfortunately contains a Laserjet 5100 driver (which of course is
totally incompatable).
Fix: 1. If you have already loaded the wrong driver with the
hp-setup. Remove the printer using the system/administration/printing
menu as root first otherwise just skip to step 2.
2. Download the HP-PhotoSmart_C5100-hpijs.ppd file from
http://linuxprinting.org/
3. Copy it as root to
/user/share/cups/model/foomatic-db-ppds/HP/all-in-one directory with
world read privileges ls -l.
4. Restart cups: /etc/inet.d/cups restart
5. Run hp-setup -u and follow the prompts. Check to make
sure it found the right one in the above directory. Works great now.
