first of all, thanks much to Rob for getting things back into an
operating state. the work is much appreciated.

another thing that happened is the AWS demo got updated with a
more recent planet; not the most recent OHM planet, but one new
enough to have some of my work on building a map of Albany NY
and surrounds in 1952. while the map itself is a work in progress,
i can see the time slider operating properly with the sketchy
start and end date data i have put in, in a very promising
manner.

if you shift the time slider, you can see the Troy-Menands
bridge appear in the 30s, and the "little Hudson River" disappear
about the time it was filled in for I 787. lots of missing
start and end dates to be filled in yet, but the time slider
certainly provides motivation.
