With the rise in very large tar archives ( 44G+ ) there are a number of compression techniques that are taking advantage of lz4 compression and using a system pipe to pass between tar and the compression utility. This is occurring for compressing/decompressing various blockchains at backup points.
Are there any plans to incorporate lz4 compression/decompression into tar like we see for gzip (-z) and bzip2 (-j) ? Thank you, Bryant Eadon
