3) Is it possible to use apt-get to update a HURD system the same
way that you can with GNU/Linux?

Yes (assuming you are using *Debian* GNU/Hurd :-).

What would I need to put in my sources.list file to do that?

The same thing you would use for your other Debian system, except
that the only available distribution is unstable, aka sid.

You also need to add gnuab, although I do not remember the details about that. I think it is mentioned in the documentation.

The last time I had read the mailing lists ssh was having problems with the random
number generator (/dev/random), so that's the main thing I wanted to know. I'd like to
be able to access that computer via my windows computer.

The URL/source line is what I was wondering about with sources.list, unless I can just use
http://http.us.debian.org and it figures out on its' own that i want Hurd binaries and not
GNU/Linux ones.

I'll give it a shot and see if it sees my network card; if it doesn't I can always reinstall
whatever

Thanks again!
