At any rate, since Map is a Functor, I vote for Data.Map.map to be deleted. Any disagreements before I submit the ticket?
Yes. It will break 100's of applications. If you are going to do this, you probably need to propose it be marked as depreciated, and then deleted sometime years into the future.
