Dear Safranim, Do your libraries/cultural institutions (or others you know of) refrain from holding Jewish musical programs, like concerts, during the Omer (this year, April 2 - May 21, 2026)? I want to understand better how to approach this question from a public library perspective. Public libraries generally try to make our offerings available to as broad a group as possible, but might not be aware of the differences in observance, halachah, and interpretations of the Jewish calendar among users. Please feel free to answer me directly, or to the group - whatever is comfortable for you. Thanks in advance! Sincerely,
Amanda -- *Amanda (Miryem-Khaye) Seigel* Librarian III - Instruction and Outreach Dorot Jewish Division, Room 111 Pronouns: she / her / hers The New York Public Library Stephen A.
