I wrote some sample instructions on a GitHub issue a few days ago and I'm waiting for them to be verified before we update the wiki. If you'd like to give them a try, they can be found here: https://github.com/mossmann/hackrf/issues/253#issuecomment-215325327 These instructions use pybombs, which I'm not entirely happy with when it comes to installing the packages globally (i.e. /usr/local) as it makes some assumptions about the system which I am not sure are always valid. Alternatively you could use Ubuntu or the GNURadio live distro (based on Ubuntu) which make things a little simpler. For example, Ubuntu still has packages for hackrf, gnuradio and gqrx in the repositories; I have no idea why Kali doesn't have them available to install. Thanks, Dominic
