The dvbt-hackrf.py file you used from sdr-examples asks for a port because it is expecting to receive the data to transmit via UDP. The outfile, if I remember correctly, stores the transmitted output. My version that I posted on Sunday uses a fifo input file. I found this to perform better on my pc, I got overflow issues with the UDP method. Simon.
