I am using spring data jpa to delete the records.
@Modifying
@Transactional
@Query(value = "delete from table where start_time_ms <= :startTimeMs", 
nativeQuery = true)
Integer deleteInBulkByStartTime(@Param("startTimeMs") Long startTimeMs) throws 
SQLException;

 Spring takes care of  managing the transaction.
