I'm not quite that old but there is no way I would ever rejoin Facebook. I delete my profile back when you still really could - about three years ago- and it's the best decision I ever made. There are plenty of other articles by well known publications out there on why no one should have an FB account. As for why this is quite lately, I think part of the problem is that it's winter - a lot of people are just now getting back from vacations and this tends to be a "slow" time for costuming. The summer (with Pennsic and Costume College) and the fall are the busier costuming times.
