 I thought there might be something more to it - the answer was too easy ;-)
I don't think there's anything much you can do here. As some have noted,
it's not necessary to have a perfect match of thread to fabric for most
parts of a garment. If you are doing topstitching maybe plan to have it
contrasting anyway so it doesn't matter so much if it is not the precise
shade you need. 
Alternatively you could try asking the online company for a colour sampler
perhaps?
The other trick I have heard of (and occasionally used) is that if you
cannot get the precise shade you want, aim for one that is a little darker
as this stands out less than one that is lighter.
