I agree with Fran's opinion of Gutermann all-cotton; I found it so rough as to be unusuable (and that was for hand-sewing). Nowadays, I use Gutermann's silk for most of my hand-sewing. If C&C cotton/poly is gone, I'm not sure what I'll get the next time I break out my machine.
