If you want to do adult female proportions doing things for half scale dress forms is a lot of fun. They don't have arms, heads or legs but they are a lot of fun to play with and have the added bonus of being able to use scaled down versions of patterns you already have and use (and those you've always wanted to play with) as opposed to having to seek out specific doll patterns. Half Scale forms can be found online from Truly Victorian Patterns, allbrands.com and from any of the major dress form makers.
